American traditional tattooing utilizes bold black outlines, solid colors and a good amount of black.  My favorite thing about traditional style is its ability to withstand the test of time.  These pieces are often best because they will still look good as your skin ages.  There is a certain level of simplicity that keeps these designs readable and entact throughout the test of time.
